Assemblymember Monique Limón (D-Santa Barbara) has honored Afghanistan veteran and University of California, Santa Barbara student Max Peck as the 2017 Veteran of the Year for the 37th Assembly District.

Assemblymember Limón hosted the Hike with Monique, an event to get to know constituents while getting some fresh air in the great outdoors. The Hike, which took place on Saturday, May 13, 2017, started in Stevens Park, and continued on the Jesusita Trail.

Assemblymember Limón presented Assembly Bill 1122 Dual-Language Immersion Program to the Assembly Committee on Education on April 5, 2017. This bill ensures bilingual teacher candidates are prepared to teach in all bilingual program models; those serving students learning English, and models serving students developing proficiency in a second language.
