Assemblymember Limón: ‘Wear Red Day’ Raises Awareness

Thursday, February 1, 2018

(Sacramento) - Assemblymember Monique Limón (D - Santa Barbara) authored Assembly Concurrent Resolution 146 (ACR 146) to raise awareness of the fight against cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular disease claims more lives each year than all forms of cancer and chronic lower respiratory disease combined. “Heart disease is the number one killer of women,” said Assemblymember Limón. “An estimated 44 million women in the U.S. are affected by cardiovascular diseases.” The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement advocates for more research and swifter action for women’s heart health.
