(Sacramento) - Assemblymember Monique Limón (D-Santa Barbara) adjourned in memory of Oxnard resident Patrick Armando Vega during a recent Assembly floor session. Vega dreamed of one day becoming a Marine. Since the tender age of 3, he would dress up in military clothes and promise his friends in high school that he would one day join the service. Last October, he finally enlisted. Unfortunately, his dream did not come to fruition. “He passed away from cardiac arrest less than two weeks after arriving for boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego,” said Limón. “He was only 21 years old; was a very driven young man and a great friend to many in the community.” To hear more about Mr. Vega’s young life, watch this Assembly Access video.
