California State Assembly Select Committee on the Nonprofit Sector

Tuesday, December 5
10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Center for Health Communities
1000 N Alameda
Los Angeles, CA 90012

Join Assemblymember Monique Limón, Jan Masaoka, Geoff Green, and other leaders in the nonprofit sector at the Center for Healthy Communities in Los Angeles on December 5th to discuss the impact of student loan debt within the nonprofit sector. The hearing will also cover issues within the workforce about awareness of the benefits that come with working for nonprofits, such as the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.

In California, 54% of all graduates still hold student debt, including more than 160,000 Californians employed by the nonprofit sector. The Assembly Select Committee has closely followed the many bills addressing student concerns, and is interested in learning more about opportunities for cooperation to tackle student debt and college affordability.
